Engineer Hassan Wasel Al-Sheikh, who is Founder and Executive Director of Malath Solutions Security Consultancy Office (MSSC), has more than twenty-eight years of experience in the field of industrial security management (security, safety, and fire protection). He has pioneering knowledge and experience in the field of developing the security management system, policies, standards, strategies, risk assessment, business continuity, and resilience plan. Moreover, the emergency and crisis management plan, audits, competency development programs for industrial security personnel, and the development of goals and performance indicators. He works closely with clients and has extensive experiences with the government, security, industrial and non- industrial sectors.

Hassan has knowledge of the general, administrative, and technical requirements for implementing security directives, and safety & fire protection directives for industrial security applicable in vital sectors under the supervision of the High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS). Moreover, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), Which are under the supervision of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (Modon) and applying the best practices. He has knowledge of international regulations and standards such as American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

He is experienced in conducting Risk Assessments (Quantitative/Qualitative or combined approaches) methodologies /standards.

for Petroleum and Petrochemicals Industries for vital Sectors as per; American National Standards Institute/ American Petroleum Institute (ANSI /API) Standard – 780, as well as American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International Risk Assessment Standards ANSI/ASIS/RIMS RA.1-2015. He conducted and managed many studies using techniques such as Hazard and Operability study (HAZOP), Preliminary Hazards Analysis (PHA), What-If/Checklist, and other techniques. He also supported and participated in different Security Risk / Vulnerability Assessment (SRA/SVA) for SABIC affiliates. He provided assistance and support on compliance with local Authority HCIS Regulations. He is experienced in accident investigation by using tools such as interviews and root cause analysis and conducted many accidents investigation / mitigation reports and sharing lessons learned and best practices.

Hassan has been participated in many professional memberships such as the American Society for Industrial Security “ASIS International”, the American Society of Safety Professionals “ASSP International”, a certified trainer in the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, a consulting engineer in the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE). He was selected as a security expert in the security code (SME), Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA). He obtained the Radiation Safety Officer certificate from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, led security competency programs for industrial security personnel, and was chairman of the Regional Security Committee at SABIC Affiliates – KSA, and led the security audit team for the security management system, chairman of Yanbu Area Mutual Aid (YAMA) committee, and Member of Crisis Management Team Regional (CMTR- Western).
